Paleto Studio

Paleto Studio is a pixel art studio that makes games, asset packs and free colour palettes. We built the website, the shop, the browser versions of the games, the asset packs and the music tool.

The Paleto Studio website

What we built

6 pieces, one business.

01
A shop that sells on its own

Buyers pay at checkout and get their download with no one in the loop. Accounts, Google sign-in and a personal library of purchases are built in, and every pack was test-bought and re-downloaded before it went on sale.

02
Eleven asset packs and a bundle

Terrain kits for nature, villages, dungeons and platformers, a UI kit, item and sci-fi icons, effects, monsters, characters and Hold My Fort. Volume 1 bundles ten of them in one purchase.

03
Made to drop into Godot

Packs ship in several sizes and palettes, with Godot and Tiled files already set up. The terrain kits were checked in a real Godot project until the tile edges closed cleanly.

04
Three games, playable in the browser

Soulbound, The Great Cleanse and Hold My Fort run on desktop and phone with nothing to install. Each has its own painted cover art on the games page.

05
Palette Edition in every game

Any game can be replayed in one of the studio's 14 free CC0 palettes, chosen from the menu and remembered. The whole site repaints in the same palettes with one click.

06
ChipForge, a music and sound tool

Pick a mood and it writes a full track in separate layers you can re-roll one at a time, plus 32 kinds of sound effect. It wrote the ten-track soundtrack for Soulbound and is in private beta.

Under the hood

Built on tools you can own.
